Gateway Group Chief Executive: Dr. K.C. Lun

 

Dr. K. C. Lun is Chief Executive of Gateway Consulting, the parent company of Gateway Music.  Prior to his retirement in 2014,  he was Professor at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine (1975-2001), Founding Vice-Dean (Academic) at the Nanyang Technological University School of Biological Sciences which he helped to establish (2001-2006) and Professorial Fellow, NUS Dept of Information Systems and NUS Centre for Health Informatics (2010-2014).  A specialist in Health Informatics and Healthcare Data Analytics, Dr Lun served as President of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) from 2001-4 and Founding President of the Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI) from 1994-7.   Over his long academic career, he had also served as consultant to various international agencies including the World Health Organization and the United Nations Development Program.   For his contributions to the development of medical informatics nationally and internationally, Dr Lun was awarded the Singapore Internationale Award in 2001, the prestigious Excellence for Singapore Award in 2002 and the IMIA – Francois Gremy Award of Excellence in August 2017, the first Asian to be accorded the honour.

An avid musician himself, Dr Lun was one of the founding members of the NUS Marching Band in 1970 and played the Euphonium and Tenor Saxophone under Music Director, the late Gerry Soliano.  Currently, he plays the Yamaha Clavinova and the Alto Saxophone in his spare time.
