Gateway Flute Faculty: Teo Shaoming
Shao Ming is a classical flutist who graduated with a Diploma in Music from LASALLE College of the Arts, under the tutelage of Mr. Roberto Alvarez and Ms. Wang Tong. In 2010, he was selected to participate in the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (SAYOWE) in Mahidol University, Thailand. Together with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Shao Ming was privileged to be a part of the Young Euro Classic in 2012 (Berlin) and the Aberdeen International Youth Festival in 2011 in Scotland. He has also participated in masterclasses by distinguished flutists such as Robert Aitken(Canada), Paul Edmund-Davies (UK), Vincent Lucas(Orchestre de Paris) , Michel Bellavance, Hansgeorg Schmeiser, Britta Jacobs (Deutsch Radio Philharmonic) and Jasmine Choi (South Korea).
In 2015, Shao Ming attained a Fellowship from the Trinity College of London. He also won 1st Prize in the chamber music division of the Singapore International Flute Festival and 3rd prize in the open division during the 7th Flute Competition held in Singapore in 2016. Currently, he is holding a full scholarship from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (National University of Singapore) pursuing his Bachelor in flute studies under Mr. Jinta, Evegenie Brokmiller and Dr. Cheryl Lim.
