Gateway Percussion Faculty: Wong Wei Lung
Wei Lung graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts with a Diploma in music. He has gone on to perform with a wide array of acts, including Pop singer songwriter “Tim Koh”, Rock cover band “Full Circle”, Jazz Fusion “To Ensemble”, and is currently a member of progressive metal band “Test The Divide”. These performances include local venues and festivals such as Mosaic Music Festival 2008, SG Night Festival 2014, Red Dot Radio 2015 and 2016, Bright Young Things 2017, Rock and Indie Festival 2017, Light to Night Festival 2018 at The Esplanade, LaSalle College of Music, Hard Rock Café and more.
As well as overseas venues such as Auckland for the final leg of “the Journey of the Olympic Flame” of the Singapore Youth Olympics 2010, Kuala Lumpur for Titian Budaya Festival 2016. He most recently toured Tokyo with Test The Divide in 2018 performing at Wild Side Tokyo and Shibuya Cyclone. Test The Divide are also winners of the Noise Music Award 2018.
Being a serious educator, he has amassed 10 years of teaching experience at Sonata Music House, Yamaha Contempo School and SG Drum Academy. And he teaches advanced drumming concepts on his YouTube Channel “Art of Drumming HQ” which has amassed 8600 subscribers.
